Cashmere Mafia To Air Seven Episodes
The writers strike is in its fourth week, with chilly prospects for viewing ahead.
During December, the schedule will be dominated by holiday specials and series repeats (not unlike any other year).
But come January, a prolonged strike could be all too obvious to viewers, with continuing episodic reruns interspersed with new reality shows.
"Cashmere Mafia," ABC's new comedy-drama starring Lucy Liu, will arrive with seven episodes completed for mid season.

Don Money To Appear As A Guest Star
He is set to begin shooting for the sixth episode of the upcoming ABC series, "Cashmere Mafia," starring Miranda Otto and Lucy Liu. That series is scheduled to begin Dec. 4, with a preview airing Nov. 27.
However, the ongoing strike by the Writers Guild of America may throw the fate of "Cashmere Mafia" and other projects into question.
"Right now, in the short run, daytime shows have a month of final scripts and three months of outlines they can use before things run out," Money said. "In the case of primetime shows, unless the remaining scripts are in produceable form, cast and crew won't be able to do anything."
For his part, Money supports the writers on strike.

Cashmere Mafia Coming In January?
ABC is postponing the launch of Cashmere Mafia because not enough episodes were filmed ahead of Monday's start of the WGA strike.
So far only 7 episodes of the Lucy Liu-starring dramedy are in the can of an original 13 episode order. One of the immediate knock-on effects of the strike is that networks are looking to hold back episodes of primetime programming so that new-run episodes can be shown well into the New Year in the event of a protracted work stoppage.
It is understood that Cashmere's debut will be replaced on November 29 with an expanded two-hour season finale of Dancing With The Stars; a permanent replacement has yet to be named.
